How Much For An Engine Rebuild And Rebore From 1360 To 1380

Id like to get my engine rebuilt using new pistons bearings gaskets, the head needs rebuilding with new valves ect how much and the block reboring to 1380cc how much do you think this would cost and any recommendations in west midlands for rebuilds

I'd budget £1100 to £1400 depending on the quality of parts needed and the amount of work your engine needs and the finish you require. That's for a half engine not including head gearbox or clutch.

Why not have it sleeved back to 1275

Out of curiousity what is wrong with it to require a rebore etc does it have many miles on current setup?

It is worth considering sleeving back to 1275 as although it is more expensive than going 'next size up' it gives you a further 3 more re-bores with no risk of scrapping the block.
With regard to power, unless it is a race car there is very little difference.

The engine doesnt run, well ive never whitnessed it running cylinder 4 was full of rust as the engine had sat for a long time also one of the valves look bent so i think its best to get it fresh

Id advise like cooperman take it to 1275cc,

Blocks can be sleeved back from 73.5mm. Not an issue.

pistons wont be cheap if you take it to 1380

What about buying another standard block. The overall cost could be less and you don't have to go to 1380 with all the additional set up costs that will involve.

Also consider this. When I had my 1293 on the rollers for set up they were convinced it was a 1380.

But I am also happy I have a spare set of Omegas on rods fir a 1380 if needed. But classes out here split at 1300.

Yep new rings and a bore to 1360 could well be the most cost effective.
