A friends had major electrical problems with is mini ( a case of several bad wiring jobs with previous owners and no expertise to interveen) - he's got to the point where hes decided to rip all and sundry out and start again. While this proves usefull "somtimes" he has got to a rather sticky situation.
He was trying to start the motor over today - connected up earth then attempted to connect live and was libberally kicked out of the boot by the battery shock. This wasnt due to contacts form the battery - it was simply making contact with the live cable. I've told him to check the live feed back to the solenoid and ignition areas but I cant thnk of anything else that owuld cause a large feedback like that. He's assured me over the phone that everything has been switched off in the car.
Any ideas folks? Need some fast thanks
Battery arcing on live feed - somthings up!
