Basically after my no spark problem I eventually today got my at home rebuilt engine to start, my question is after running for the first time for approximately 10 seconds how much oil should be getting flung around the rocker box? I'm running roller rockers if that makes any difference? Thanks

How much oil should be getting flung around the rocker box? That's all, I thought there would be a fair bit but I'm.not getting much.

When everything's in good order, there is some, but not 'a lot'.

The Oil feed to the Rockers is restricted by the Cam Shaft. There's two off-sets slots on it to 'pulse meter' the Oil going up there.

Ok, well the oil light goes out so it's got oil pressure, maybe I'll fit a decent gauge to be sure, then I'll have another look when I run it again after I've bled the clutch up, thanks

Ok.

You are aware that you need to have a rocker pedestal with an oil hole in over the oil feed hole in the head.

And you need to have the rocker shaft in the correct way with grub screw fitted and locked.

My father was a mechanic and I have seen him run push rod engines with the rocker cover off after having set all the clearances to double check nothing was wrong with the engine and he or the engine bay didn't get covered in oil. So the answer is not a lot of oil is sprayed around at low engine rpm.
