i got mine from halfords, its a 34mm i think best thing is to go there and ask them if u can try it to make sure its the right size. it is the the profesional section tho i think its a hammer action one but works fine with standard stuff

Sorry I'm in Malaysia :D
I have found a dealer of Cromwell, which is a UK hardware/tools supplier, will try tomorrow if I can find something there

hey guys,

eventually found a 34mm socket, 12 points, supposed to be fine for a 1-5/16 nut, feels ok on the bolt, no play

anyway, it may be a dumb question, but do I turn clockwise to remove the tower bolt? as it's imperial :err:

EDIT: also, any issue to soak with WD40 there?
seems like a rubber below the bolt :ermm:

Sorry to Hijack, but are there any rules on how replacing the rubber dounuts? Should you allways change them all? Pairs or can you just change the one that apears to have gone?

i would say change by pair, as old cones, even not collapsed wont have the same height as new ones

Are the front ones the same as the back? As its just the drivers side of my car that has droped and i really dont have the cash at the mo to replace all 4 so could i move the good front one to the back and then fit 2 new ones to the front? Ride hight is pretty similar front to back just the drivers side there is only room for 2/3 fingers between the wheel and arch and the passanger side about 5/6 :s

it's funny, because minisport sell ones labelled as fronts, and others as rears, and there's a tenner extra in the price!!

i seem to remember that there was a reason why this particular batch could only be used on the rear of the cars. something to do with the compressor tool not fitting into them. i know it's been discussed on here before so someone is bound to know the real reason.

apart from that they are the same front to back, i swapped my front ones for a pair of old back ones from a car i scraped. the back ones do last longer, however i wouldn't put the old front ones on the back so it's not a good idea to do a straight swap. see if you can find some decent second hand rear ones. (although you will have to take the sellers word that they came off the rear)

did i help then or just confuse everyone :proud:

original back rubber springs did not have a nut in them, were as the front had, for the compressortool, so if they are original rear ones you CANNOT swop them over for the front.
i think all rubber springs are now fitted with the nut and the non nut ones are not made anymore.

this is my opinion and will differ from others.
