It is with much regret that I put this mini up for sale.
My dad bought her in 1999 from a Rover dealer with two previous owners.
He ran the car for the following 15 years as part of a collection of three minis. He had the car Stage 3 tuned by Minisport shortly after owning it and the car has now done 58k miles. The car is running about 85hp and I can confirm it feels significantly quicker (and sounds better) than a standard 63bhp cooper having driven them back to back.
The car was Cat D in 2004 after my Dad ran into the back of another car that emergency braked in front of him in the wet. The damage was minor but he hit the car square on so the car had a new front end.
The car is fundamentally solid (I think) but needs at least one a-panel and the sill seam under the doors replacing (see photos). This is the only visible rust. The bottom of the car looks good and the boot floor is sound. The car was waxoyled after purchase and this seems to have done an amazing job all things considered. There is evidence of patching in the footwells.
I inherited the car in 2014 and drove it for a summer and then took it off the road to bring it back up to perfect condition. My plan was a 10inch wheel conversion, suspension refresh and tidy up the body work. Unfortunately a change in circumstances means that I can no longer finish the rebuild. Below is the car after I had de-stickered and put her up in the air to have a good poke round.
I have fitted new front cones, hi-los and gaz dampers and refurbished the top arms (new bearings etc). This is as far as I got with the suspension rebuild however I have all the parts shown in the picture to complete the suspension refresh which will be provided with the car.
The car currently is SORN, has no MOT (and no front brakes - but Minisport 4pots included with cooper s 7.5 discs). I can confirm the car drove very well before I took her off the road, the engine is strong and the car never let me down. The gearbox feels exactly as it should. The car has a full service history.
I would like the car to go to a forum member and someone with the means and the will to bring her back up to scratch! I have no idea how much she is worth so please PM me and we can go from there. The car will need to be trailored away.
