If that's worth 8 grand..... it makes me wonder what some of our cars would be worth!

The sad thing is that some mug will buy it. If everyone was as well informed as the average member of this forum, it would fetch only it's true value. If I really wanted it I would go to about 2k, no more. Others have indicated figures not too far away from that, so I don't think I am being a grumpy old tight-fisted Scotsman. (Well, I admit to old...) . But Joe or Jane Public has often not done his or her research, and some have much more money than sense... (Well off topic, but where do ordinary looking people get the money to drive around in overpriced bloated junk like Mercs and most SUVs?)

I don't know if we will necessarily be able to find what it finally sells for, but it would be extremely interesting to know. But if it goes to a complete novice, as is likely, it may come up for sale again in not too many months, after the filler falls off or worse...

One thing is certain, it will be cheaper next time around. And probably there will be someone who will never touch a Mini again. Sad.

Remember many people don't ever own their new car.......there are many deals to tailor monthly payments to peoples budgets, so if you are willing to build a monthly payment into your outgoings then it is possible to have a new car always in warranty that you never actually get to own outright before moving on to the next new model and a revised monthly payment. Cars are being sold much like mobile phones, etc with many being convinced they must always have the latest version on offer in another tempting deal......also of course keeps the car industry going and all the exports and jobs it provides!
