I used Electrox primer then Epoxy Mastic, both from Bilt Hamber. http://www.bilthamber.com/ AFAIK little chance of killing yourself.

I keep reading stories, not horror ones, about how important it is not to come into contact with the vapour of these paints, to have a ventilated and filtered painting booth and to have an air fed mask and all skin covered up because the poison can get into the body through the skin.

It's quite scary.

My brother was a panel beater, / sprayer all his life and passed away a couple of years ago from a massive heart attack at the age of 55.

Pete.

I wouldn't worry too much about it a good cartridge mask and some ventilation will be adequate for a single exposure..

The main risks are for repetitive use..

The above isn't good advise! People react differently to exposure to 2k paints and isocyantes. It's not worth the risk without the proper breathing equipment. Though I believe some (maybe all) epoxy primers do not contain isocyanates and can be sprayed with a good quality mask with the correct filters installed. It's always worth checking the products data sheet or contacting a reputable supplier and asking for their recommendation

Rust.co.uk say their mastic primers and paints don't contain isocyanates.

It isn't cheap, but perhaps that's why. Have a look yourself.

Are you painting underside or top of shell, I have opted for epoxy mastic on underside and are using high build epoxy on external panels. Reason being it builds very well and easy to sand.
Epoxy paints are generally fine with a filter mask. I use a gerson mask. But as with everything download and read the MSDS for the exact paint you are planning to use. This will give all information you need

I will be doing the whole car in epoxy, to seal it.

So epoxy mastic is epoxy primer ?

looking on rust.co.uk site, i understand that epoxy mastic should be used for the underside and epoxy primer for the rest of the car. So they are not the same.

Here in France i'm having a job finding the correct paint.

This is what I have.
Good for under the car too.
I got it in Switzerland, but it has lots of translations on it. 😀

I see that on the tin in english it says EPOXY FILLER

and in french it says EPOXY APPRET, translated means "primer"

This is why I am having a job finding it in France, I don't want filler, I want primer, but if they can't translate things correctly then I'm not sure what to buy.
