Hi,
So I was working on my Mini and trying to get it to run, but the fuel pump didn't pump.
I then tested the pump by directly putting 12v on it and it worked.
So would should I check first and what could be the problem?
Thanks in advance!

Checked the fuel cut off switch near the bulk head? Press from the top to reset. Looks like this:

No, I'll try tonight or tomorrow.
Do you just have to push or do you have to hold it or something?

Yes just push down I believe. Your fuel pump should prime for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on, no need to try a start when testing.

When I happened to experience the same, the fuse was burnt. I could not even see it with bare eyes.

Ok, I tried the inertia switch today, didn't work unfortunately.
Then I went looking for the fuse, but when I tried to look up which one it was, I saw that I have a fusebox that isn't original (see spoiler).
So is there a fuse or is my car without a fuse?
My Mini is a 1992 SPI.
Thanks in advance

Does it still have the injector and ECU or has someone converted it to a carb? Maybe a post of the engine bay might help.

Hello,
your SPI should have some line fuses behind or near by the inertia switch.Have a look for a schematic, there are some links here in the forum.
According to my schematic line fuse Nr 4 colour NS
Good luck

You can probably scratch this comment, the early SPIs have a different fuse box to the later ones apparently

Check the inline fuse with a white wire.
Take off your fuse box, clean it carefully also on the back and the connections and plugs. These fuse boxes tend to corrode on the backside.
Then measure at the fusebox connections re-installed the voltage-in and voltage-out when ignition is on..
In one case I had voltage in normal and voltage out 5. That was not enough.
I Therefore changed the fuses of my SPI 93 and fixed a large modern blade fuse box with all fuses necessary. Since then peace with electrics.

Are the inline fuses the fuses in the picture in the spoiler in my previous post?
And is the one at the top (with the white wire) the fuel pump fuse?
In the spoiler below I put some pictures of my engine bay.

Has anyone a list of all the fuses and which color belongs to it?
I checked the white inline fuse, looked good.
