What does self levelling do?  It certainly doesn't stop you getting blinded by modern headlights.

Interesting! I do like to have my facts right. I will try to find out more but it will have to wait till at least tomorrow evening. It is the C&U Regs that matter here. The IVA testers manual still requires them and it "should" not be asking for anything beyond C&U and the numerous Type Approval regs.

I can't see why they would relax the requirement, but you never know....

Rebound Dazzling might be a better way of describing them!

Think this is a case of lighting technology advancing and MOT rules lagging behind.

I've just fitted Crystal LED Halo  Headlamps to my 91 mayfair, with 100w Halogen H4 bulbs. Now I can be seen coming, and see where I'm going ;D very easy to adjust, with a nice cut off on dip.

got em from Powerful UK, there made for Classic Mini's RHD/LHD.They work great and cost me £37.00 for the pair.

Next on list ....LED indicators/rear lights kit from SPIYDER (Stourbridge) I've already fitted their led flasher (with bleeper)+ hazard relays.

Mot regs and legality regs are two different things.

100w bulbs will pass a mot because theres no check on the bulb wattage etc. But they arent legal to use on the road.

There are many many examples of this. Mot is only a basic road worthiness test.
