a question for you all...
has anyone got a tool to help inserting the front and rear windscreens? are there tools? or is the easiest way just using some sting and inserting it around the rubber seal and pulling it over the frame? if anyone has a tool is it at all possible to borrow or buy it, would be much appreciated!

This has been discussed several times over the past couple of years. I believe a summary has been moved to the FAQs section here.
Succinctly, buy the locking strip tool. Several suppliers should have them, I'm sure Mini Spares does. Apart from that, based on my personal experience use the following method instead of string.
1) Fit the rubber to the opening in the car body.
2) Rest the glass in the bottom edge of the rubber just fitted to the opening.
3) Use a plastic spatula or similar to pry the rubber up and over the edge of the glass working from bottom to top.
4) Fit the locking strip using the tool mentioned above. Various lubricants have been mentioned to speed fitting the lock strip. The best suggestion I was given was K-Y jelley.
The string method works but this method works better and can be done by yourself.
