False advertising with the "120bhp" too. I'd buy an engine of him and then file a claim over eBay just to learn this guy a lesson.
For that price I can't believe that it's a rebuilt block, head and box making 120 bhp.

I never believed the "120 hp" stuff. Just thought it would run great, but not that much power.

The guy also says he prefers that i pay through paypal. Then it will be cheaper. Its just a way for him to be able to trick people i guess...

Cant anyone that lives near him pay him a little visit? :)

Leaning more and more towards an allspeed frame and a Opel/vauxhall x16xe engine with their driveshafts and so on.

Would have been nicer to keep the car stock, no removable front and such, tho...

Before spending any cash talk to the Test/Approval guys as you will need a whole pile of paperwork to back it all up.

SilverBuilit had issues getting what he needed just for a BMW head change.

Indeed have a talk with SFRO before you buy anything.

The age of your mini will also determine what is possible.

A decent 1275 with a Keith Calver head, sw5 cam, HIF44 carb with full stage 1 kit and electronic ignition is more than enough in British traffic. My 1275 is a standard Cooper Carb and I can more than keep up with traffic, I can cruise at 80mph on the motorway and I imagine I could do 3 figures but I only have a 90mph speedo. Or put it this way, my mate spent £5k on a 1380 'stage3' mpi with specialist components ecu and straight cut gear box and he can't loose me in a race apart from in a very long straight and thanks to my 10" wheels and the the fact he has 12s means I smash him off the lights.
Also, and this might be just my opinion, but if you are only going to be using every so often, why spend that kind of money? Unless it's for motorsport.

It has been done.

Will be registered as a modified vehicle - which is possible as i will be changing engine, gearbox and braking system.

Regarding why i will spend the money... its my hobby and the money has to be used, right :)

Bloke selling those engines is an utter con artist. He sells painted up junk engines filled with crap second hand parts.

I know of at least 3 people who have bought engines off the guy and none of the engines has been any good.

He sells a lot of Stuff off eBay and that's how he keeps his feedback looking ok.

What ever you do don't waste a Penny of your money with this guy.

ohhhh like I said before spending the cash talk to the SFRO (as Silver built reminds me) and having lived in Sweden for 10+ I know what untcs they can be.

never said anything about you spending your money or dissing your idea on the conversion just advising you not to rush in.

Ofcourse i understand this! I´ve been considering this a while now and it's absolutely possible.

The engine needs to have it's emission controls intact and ALL of the braking system needs to be REPLACED. Meaning i could buy a set of minisport discs at the front and some superfin drums at the rear.

According to my local SFRO guy this is enough to get the car street legal. :)

I have now made an order from Allspeed Engineering.

One subframe complete with driveshafts, bulkhead box, bottom tie bars and gearstick bracket!

Now i just need to source me a car with a working engine and gearbox.

Which intake is usable? I know that the x16xe std inlet's EGR interferes too much with the bulkhead.

Over here almost all the Opel's run x16xel engine, which i believe has the same inlet as the x16xe, correct?

Also, which gearbox will be most suitable? Which ones has got mechanical speedo?
