A-SD have been building A-Series Engines for Road and Race use since the 1970’s, with machinists from the era when tuning the A-Series was for real competition use we know how to get the most out of the engines no matter what your application or needs.

Since the 70’s the most cost effective way to get power into your A-Series powered car was to start with a 1275 / 1300 power unit. This has been turned on its head in recent years, where you can now be spending anywhere upto £500 for an untested 1275 unit.

Our in-house team has been working behind the scenes, coming up with exciting and cost effective ways of getting genuine power and reliability for different applications from the smaller bored A-Series units. With interest from specialists and car enthusiasts, you can be sure you will be seeing the A-SD performance packs on plenty of 998 and 1098 Power Units.

Originally developed in 2015, We have been testing this spec in our workshop / staff cars that is used for weekend pleasure rides along with commuting in the better weather. We have been incredibly impressed with the drivability and performance from this product.

IMG_0451-e1484938029527-330x248.jpg?resi998cc Surcharge: £150.00
Most customers will have an engine to send back to us, and where possible we encourage this as it means that we always keep a healthy stock of doner engines to
recondition. We ask that the engines are cleaned off and drained of all fluids as our courier can refuse to collect engines that are leaking fluids.

Engine Pallet Surcharge: £50.00
Our workshops have engineered metal frames that secure inside a crate to safely transport the Engines. We are keen to get these back to save our workshop having to recreate them. These are ideal for you to secure your engine to and send back, but if you do not have an engine to send back, simply send the frame back to get your surcharge payment back.

We've just had a discussion on here about not fitting a turbo oil pump on anything other than a turbo http://www.theminifo...n/#entry3449326 so can I ask why you fit one?

Hi,

I have seen the arguments for and against and in some cases they may well be valid.. We found that the Turbo type oil pump is of a better quality and we have had no issues with excess oil pressure or over heating. We started using this type several years ago due to issues in quality with the standard pumps and we still find these issues are present but the Turbo type pump has never had issue. It is the same pump that was used in later years by Rover / Unipart. We use the standard relief valve. When warm the engines run at a steady pressure of around 60. We run all engines up on the test bed and have personally run our own cars with 10,000's of miles covered.

For us it is a set up that works and we have never had failures.

I hope that helps, Different builders have different set ups and experience different results but for us and our engine packages these work a treat.

Thanks for the reply. It's interesting to read different takes on a subject, I'm now throughly confused.

If you have been using it without pressure or temperature issues then I would continue to use it.

We personally have found them to be good quality and have had no issues :)
