Here's one fitted (this doesn't have the additional harness bar) - Photo00341.jpg

I've gone for the full safety devices bolt in cage with harness bar, I would recommend, very easy to install, small bit of welding as you would expect with the load plates and bolting points, plus mini sport gave great support and advice about the suitability. I have pics but can't upload them.

Thanks WellRoy

Minisport are messing me about on price at the moment! If I don't get the SD cage at the discounted price I'll go elsewhere. Yours looks great though!

What are those eye's on the C pillars for?  I'm assuming definitely not harnesses as you've got a harness bar.......do tell.

Thanks WellRoy

If they are messing you about, go elsewhere.  I have been promised discount before with them and then they get all fluffy when you try and take advantage of it.  Minispares TMF discount will save you a few quid, or try direct with SD.

Here's the cage I've ordered - https://www.minispor...abs_description

It's still on their site for 768 plus postage. But they keep telling me it will be £939.88!

So it's advertised at one price and they want to charge you more? just mention trading standards to them.

I spoke to Minisport yesterday and they've agreed I can have it at the discounted price so fingers crossed.

 I might buy one of these. I prefer the weld in type, just because it looks much neater.  :shades: Still undecided though. I know it will be a pain, but I want to keep my rear bins, and seat.

Hi, I personally would go with a weld in if you can. Everyone I have spoken to at cage manufactures say they are stronger. Not sure about the 6 point only requirement for historics. When I spoke to Minisport they were saying you want the triangulation around the wheel arch as per the link. This helps stop the wheel getting overly friendly with your feet if you rip it off!  And we were talking about building a Mini Cup car. This gives you at least 9 points, before you start tying into door aperture and windscreen surround. Think it is only FIA events where you can't tie in around screen...?

Does the Safety Devices cage mount into the bins?   Mine has an extra panel welded in, above the outer rocker panel skin by almost

an inch.  I'm worried the gap between the two will prevent an easy bolt-in mount without distorting some sheet metal.

see answer in your other post. they all go through the floor/sill in the rear bin.
