Here are the pictures of mini and the mini engine I was trying to identify. I have put a sheet of paper with my user name to show I haven't just googled a picture like you thought I might. And as for me not caring about classic cars or minis I am a member of the British mini club, and own another two minis and also a mint hillman super minx. But as you may understand it costs money to maintain and look after these so do up a few minis to make a bit extra cash and maybe even save the odd car that would be broke and lost forever. Thank you
Would you like me to post the reg of that car on here? I've found it through google...
Also I thought you said you'd just had it sprayed?

I have the Reg now as found logbook but you can message me it to see if you have found correct one and also would you mind tell me what you googled to find it. And yes I have had it sprayed, why you sound like you don't believe me?
I was trying to help mate. The spots and bonnet give the car away with a search. I won't say too much on here as you want to sell the car etc.
I'm a painter and the paint doesn't look fresh? The picture is in yellow. Just a question... we're paranoid buggers as people keep nicking our cars lol.
As before nothing personal. You'd want us to be like this if someone nicked your mini. We've worked together to help reunite cars with owners in the past.
Read through your first posts and think if it wasn't your car and you was on the outside of the situation... it's not personal.
We're always happy to help fellow mini nuts... just you had a new account asking precarious questions on a subject that's sensitive.

In my opinion it doesn't really matter what the engine number is? If it isn't the original engine (which it looks like it's not) then the engine number will only tell you of the original specification of the engine eg carburettors, final drive ratio, compression ratio. Chances are it's been rebuilt at least once since new, so it's probably better to know exactly what the spec is now.
