the pedal on my 1989 mayfair 1000 has been sticking on for a while but has now got bad enough that it needs pulling back up with my foot after every use - a bit worrying!

I have removed the direct servo and master cylinder and believe it to be the servo unit as when pushed needs to be returned by tapping the pin that goes into the master cylinder back.

The master cylinder slides nicely

the real question (sorry for ramble) are these servos serviceable or do I need a new one, if so any recommended suppliers - I want a quality one -  OE would be good if possible

also probably worth replacing the seals in the master cylinder whilst removed - again recommendations for quality parts needed

thanks in anticipation

Tim

Yes servo is serviceable. Minispares do a kit - around about £50. I've done 3 now, they are fairly straightforward. If have some pics if you so go down that route. Alternatively the comets servo is also available new.

Are you sure that the pedal return spring, on the pedal, has not broken? It is very importaby for several reasons. If the servo input rod is not pulled back firmly, it's output will not be either. A new spring is a lot cheaper than a servo.
