IMO they're only worth getting if you do some motorway miles, the increased cooling is to help prevent Brake fade on hard braking.
I don't think you need these on a Town car as I doubt the brakes would get hot enough... Race cars yes... the miglias use them, but on town car... even though they will keep your brakes cooler... the effect wont be that noticeable, unless you're racing. A well maintained drum braking system been used properly (pedal pumping rather than prolonged pedal pushing) is very effective and adequate.

mini fins.... worth it?

ok cheers guys, standard drums and shoes it is then =)
the only other thing i need to find now is the clips for front brake pads. i can only find them on ebay. minispares seem to only sell them for vented discs, or 4 pots.
ive painted up my new calipers yellow. yellow mini you see. should i paint up the new drums too or is that gonna be ott. i reckon it might look C**p to be honest, but i enjoy painting things yellow =)
you guys are awesome, if the mini forum wasnt here, i wouldnt still own a mini and im sure plenty of others wouldnt either.
now lets hope i get everything fixed in time for mot..... bet it'll still fail.

Try Halfords, they usually keep in a selection of retaining clips.

Just be warned, the cheaper minifins that some of the smaller companies have been selling have been known not to have the metal band inside the drum which provides the friction surface against the brake shoe. These are not worth buying and very probably very dangerous.
