I think you are going to struggle. I rang from what it seemed like, every insurance company in the uk, big and small - and nobody could help. Many of the small ones really wanted to but their hands were tied by their brokers. Luckily i had a uk address so i just had to omit that i was exporting the car and just ask for the green cards for the countries i was driving through. I would check with your local Vehicle Licensing Agency, as they may provide day cover for such things.

All you need is a accommodation address in the UK. If you have a British friend that would do.
Then insure the car at that address and pay the first installment of the 12-month policy. You will get a certificate and be legally covered. Drive to Switzerland and register the car, then send the V5 back to the DVLA in Swansea marked as permanently exported. Cancel the insurance and don't pay any further premiums.
That is all totally legal. My son bought a car in England when he lived in Chatel, France. He insured it using my address and drove it straight to Dover and on through France. Cancelled the insurance 3 days later. It was all OK and when he moved back to England 3 years later he brought the same car back and got the original registration re-issued, a new V5 and a new MoT.

sounds not good.
i have no adress in uk this means also i have no family or good friend in uk.
And sounds like it takes a while to get the insurance certificate.
Is there no option to walk into a insurance office, pay them the insurance with baar money, and walk out with the green insurance certificate?
I contactet Hagerty insurance, but i have no answer at the moment.

I asume you'll be able to get insurance once you have it in Mainland Europe, why not insure it on the chassis number and have it transported to the UK ferry port. Once you land you'll be able to drive it on your homeland insurance.

let me repeat this. To get an swiss insurance: first i have to modify the headlights and the speedo. Than the car must pass the swiss mfk (MOT), when it passes i will get a swiss registration. And only with this registration a siwss insurance company can sell me a insurance.
The car has only a uk registraion and not a swiss registraion at the moment. I just need a uk insurance, how hard can it be.

ok i found an interesting insurance company:
http://www.gocompare...otor-insurance/
Dayinsure, which is backed by Aviva, offers comprehensive short term car insurance cover for those aged 19-75 that enables them to drive a UK-registered car on UK roads, with options available for driving in Europe.
maybe they can help me.

Are you buying it privately or from a dealer?
A dealer should be able to assist with the insurance - or even the private person you are buying it off may allow you to use their address.
I suppose the approach from the Swiss company is very 'Swiss' I've purchased cars in Germany and obtained UK insurance documents that has no registration just a vin number ...then in Germany I can then stick transport plates on the car and drive it home ...the plates last anywhere between one week and a month, so plenty of time to get the lights changed, it MOT'ed and registered.
The last one I imported was at the height of the Eurotunnel issues back in June 2015 - neither the French or UK customs took any notice of a car with export plates on it ...
