Hello all, i still havent got the car running yet. Got a mechanic round the other day, he told me that the starter motor is not disengaging. I have since removed the sarter motor and discovered that the spring is knackered so mechanic was right it doesnt disengage!!!
Does ay1 have a starter motor kicking around that i can buy preferably around Northampton area looking at collecting ASAP, its for a 1275 metro engine the 1 without the solanoid ontop!
Otherwise anyone know how i take the starter motor apart its the part that engages into flywheel i need to take apart.
Any help would be great
Cheers all

The one without the solenoid on top is the innertia starter but I'm pretty sure that all Metros should have a pre-engaged. Do you have trouble starting it. is it noisy? The springloaded part is called a bendix and you can replace it on it's own (if the spring's failed it's not repairable but can be replaced) but to be honest it's not really worth it as a whole exchange starter is about twenty five quid at any motor factors.
