1098 based engines make great road units. All torque for a little engine.

Keep the revs below 5.5k and it last too.

I am also curious to know what they would be like on the drag strip, with Santa Pod having just passed....

I would imagine the high torque figures would be good, but the inability to rev freely would be a problem...

 

Alan Staniforth in the original Terrapin ran a blown 1098, this did the quarter mile in under 13 seconds.
