Had one of those after market centre consoles that I bought off ebay. It slips between the seats and provide a handy perch for my elbow when cruising. Frustrated me that there was nowhere to sit my can of coke or cuppa tea.

 

Was thinking through ideas and as a trial I bought one of those retractable cup holders from an Audi A4 - similar to Ford Galaxy / VW Sharan... they're all pretty alike.

 

Nipped off some excess plastic with the dremel, mounted it to some black painted MDF and secured it to the underside of the armrest. Hey presto... retractable cup holder

 

Another small mod to customise the car to my taste. Looks pretty cool too. If attempting at home, FYI you cannot mount it flat to the underside as they are designed to be fitted at something like a 20-30 degree angle.
