mini went to the body shop this morning

not much new one the car, its still at the body shop

 

the shop i took it to, its taking so long because they normally work on a lot of smaller jobs for many of the local dealers around town and they do body work and paint for custom air planes

 

but ive been going down twice a week to check it out and they are working it over really nice

 

im waiting on posting any pictures till its all the way done painted

 

but since the mini has been gone, I started to work on my truck

 

its a 1937 chevy 3/4 ton, its getting a 5.3 liter v8, a 4l80e 4 speed automatic trans, and a 50 inch wide ford 9 inch rear axle, 4.11 lsd in the axle, air ride, 2 inch drop spindles, mmw flat plate upper arms, ss-7 bags, engine driven air compressor, avs 4 link, 2x3 frame rails, z06 vette 6 piston calipers and 14 inch rotors in the front, 31gallon fuel tank, fitech ecm and wiring harness, coffin muffler exhaust, 8 qt engine oil pan, alloy radiator

im going to be building my door cards in a few days

 

 

I have a electric bead roller from eastwood coming in the mail tomorrow

 

I have some thin sheet metal that I plan to put some lines into 

and then cover it with some cf vinyl 

 

and I plan to cover the dash with the same stuff

the mini will be all one primer color by tonight 

 

and going to stay the night in the booth

 

and gets my 111 red oxy primer first thing in the morning and then paint

 

 

they said by the late afternoon it will be ready for me to take it home

 

where I will install the new glass and seals and everything

 

the new seats will be waiting to go in and the honda column adapter hasn't shown up yet

but that should be in Monday

I got myself a bead roller a few weeks ago because I wanted to build some alloy door cards for this mini

 

no idea how to use it, but I figure the only way to get a handle on this new tool is to put some lines into some sheet metal and see what happens

got a new header for the d16 motor

the header didn't fit my mini, because the radiator was im the way

 

oh well, back to the stock manifold

 

 

i built some sub boxes for the garage

 

 

 

 

 

 

new mk2 tail lights where on back order for almost 4 weeks plus shipping but they finally got here

 

 

 

test fit them and didn't like the chrome housings

 

 

 

so I painted them satin black, and I think it looks so much better

 

no chrome on my car

 

 

 

I moved the heater core to outside in the engine bay, I dont need heat here, its already pushing 38C plus here, most of the time its 43c here

 

and installed the led headlights 

im working on fitting the clubby grill to the car now

it started to rain on me when I was installing the fog light, so I didn't get to finish running the wire to the switch

 

 

 

im in the process of changing out the boot lid bolts to some allen head bolts
