Loving the look of this Mk2, Nice work, I would love to come learn from you guys... its going to be another stunner!

I would quite like to have an apprentice, unfortunately, it's really hard to find anybody that still wants to learn this trade.

We have had one person try out but he was more interested in his mobile phone and working on his own car than actually doing any work. I guess this seems to be the trend now. :(

Thanks for the comments :-)

Ben

You want an apprentice? That's it, I'm gonna jack in my job as a wire rigger up here in Shetland, tell the wife an sons I'm off to re-discover my youth and my trade and head south. I'll clean up my hammers and dolly's and pack them in my suitcase and load up the Clubman!!

I popped it up int he air this afternoon ready to start the underside.

I was going to make a start with the prep but the paint was still a little too soft to mask off the holes and whatnot from inside

First thing today was to mask off all of the openings

Then apply some primer to the underside

Whilst that flashed off, I sheeted up the car to prevent stonechip overspray

And then sealed up and stonechipped the underside

I had planned to paint the underside this afternoon but the sealing took a long time and there wasn't quite enough time to get it done so ill paint it Monday.

Cheers

Ben

Just to make you all a little bit jealous, I've had the pleasure of being taught by Ben.

He taught me loads in the few days we spent on my car.

That grey primer actually looks a lot like an old school Mini colour.
