I meant the bolt that hold the clutch and flywheel the one behind the wok
When you turn it, does the engine turn over or, is it just turning in the end of the crankshaft?
It seems to be only the crank cannot get any gears when engine is running

So, are you saying when you put a socket on the bolt head and turn it, the engine turns over?

Yes but as the car is in gear should it do that

No it should'nt, you say above you can't get any gears when the engine is running, do you mean you can't get it into gear or, do you mean when you've selected a gear you don't get any drive?

not unless the clutch is totally dead and slipping. or you are making the wheels move by doing it. it should only move along with the flywheel.

can't get any gears
You must have missed my post number 20, what's the answer to the questions I asked?

With the car in gear if you try and turn the flywheel over with a socket on it it moves very freely like it's not in gear
With the engine running it will not select any gears

So you took the cover off because it wouldn't select gears?
It should never be that easy to turn the flywheel bolt as you'd also be turning the engine over, looking at the crankshaft pulley on the radiator end will tell you if that's happening.
People have asked if the stick moves as if it's going in to gear or you physically can't move the stick, apart from across neutral, when the engine's running. It helps diagnosis as the stick would resist going in to gear if the clutch was still driving the input side of the gearbox.
You could jack a front wheel off the ground and turn it to confirm if the engine is connected to it when you can get it in gear when it not running. Only one, if both are off the floor you'll be turning the other wheel and testing the diff.
Any history from when it stopped working? Did you notice what the speedo did, such as not registering when the car was moving or still registering when the car was motionless?
