Hello all

Sorry to bother you again, guessworks supplied me with a new starter motor which I fitted, then fired the baby up and she sterted first time, not running right tho but it was a start, I turned ignition off to move car outside as i was getting choked in the garage, turned the key and it started first time, running really rough at this point tho only firing on 1 cylinder! I decided to start all over again with the timing to see if I can get it right. Found TDC, put dizzy drive shaft in correctly. Set dizzy static timing, everything was looking good until I turned the key and it doesnt even atempt to fire now, it turns over no probs. There is a decent spark at the plugs.

Any ideas of anything else it could be?

Cheers

Gaz

contact breakers perhaps (reading haynes here so it probly wrong) :gimme:

oh wait. Pleant of Fuel WERE? might be somthing blocking a pipe so top the float up yourself or at lest see if theres any petrol in the float.

just an idea tho.

contact breakers are brand new, correct distance apart etc etc.

Plenty of fuel going through into the carb then fuel covering the plugs.

when you changed the points did you also change the condensor?
how's your coil... though I guess it's fine if there's definatly good spark.

I can only see it being timing related, if you've got spark, and fuel.. then surely the only thing stopping it firing is timing out.

have you checked the head over? are you flooding the engine?
