If your fitting LEDs to make things brighter at the back first try taking the light units apart and giving them a good clean, it's surprising how much muck can build up in there. This along with new bulbs might surprise you, I did this and the difference is really noticeable.

I agree, I'll add clean all the earth connections on the bolts behind and clean the plugs with electrical contact cleaner too.

In fact do the whole car, every plug, connector and earth including the battery and starter solenoid and you'll see an improvement in everything from the interior light to the cold starting!

I am confused about what I have bought here. My Mini Clubman has the mk2 back lights without the reversing lights built in yet it is on a V plate? I am now thinking the shell could be older than the plate. The VIN starts with XC2S2 which points to 1100 Clubman yet the engine number is 12HC14 which points to 1275 metro A+ engine. Confused.com ???

Although they're in the US and some consider them a bit pricey www.superbrightleds.com has LEDs that are direct replacement. They offer lots of info in regards to lumen output and schematics of the bulbs for size comparison. A lot of guys on the Ducati forum's ship them to AU and NZ so it can't be too expensive to get them to the UK. My experience with the cheap eBay LED's has been pretty bad. Remember to replace the incandescent bulb with the correct color LED ie: red dual intensity behind the red stop lens, amber behind amber indicators, white behind reversing lens. I have LED's in all of my lights with an electronic flasher they've worked great for the last 5 years. I have a list somewhere of the model numbers of the LED's I used if you want it I'll look for it.

In regards to a good third brake light Hella NZ make a really nice one https://www.danielst...s/products.html This guy is the only source I've ever found, if someone else knows a place to get one it would be great.

I've not been able to find a post with up to date links. Has anyone fitted LED back lights to their mini? Or at least just the bulbs so i can keep my existing light cluster and len's its a 1989 mini 30.

I used LED bulbs on my mini for the rear turn signals, reverse and stopping. Never had issues. Also, I was in Italy at the time and now in Germany and haven't had issues. It didn't mess with my electrical lights at all. I've also used LED light for my dash cluster.
