X2 I use the 20/50 halfords as it was recommended and only £16 . I used to use castrol gtx 10:40 but I doubt it offered the best protection, as I was going by the handbook, issued in the 90's when rover where recommending 10:40

My tiple is shell rimula rtx 15 40. I used it in my mpi for a good 50k miles with no issues and it's in the mini van and the turbo mini with dog box. I buy it in a 315ltre drum and it gets changed regularly. And whenever I have split an engine for any reason like upgrades it's always very clean inside.

I used in the past Castrol 20W50 https://www.castrol....ity/20w-50.html but I was told it didn't have enough ZDDP in it for safe running. So when I moved to Italy, my neighbor brother (fortunately for me) use to race minis. He recommended I use Valvoline 20w50 https://www.amazon.c...r/dp/B00GZKC6CO which i would have shipped from the U.S. Worked well, but now that I had my engine rebuilt, and speaking with my rebuilder (Allitt Motorsports) I'm using Millers 20w-50 https://www.ebay.co....5.c100011.m1850

Hope that helps
