I know you can't put the carb before the intercooler, due to as you say the fuel will get trapped there, but what about having it before? (as I asked in my above post). Is it possible to find out how well air flows though an intercooler?

The point of making something like this is to see if it can be done, you have to try things or what is the point of modifying a car at all? I mean it worked when it came out the factory.....

An intercooler before the Turbo would be pointless. The whole point of an intercooler is to cool the air after it's compressed {which is what heats it} by the Turbo.

Hi guys,

I have had an email back from V-max Scart about using a weber on a suck through system, allthough it will work, but due to the centrifugal forces the fuel will drop out of the air, therefore cools the turbo, but at the same time reduces the amount of fuel that gets to the engine therefore making it very un efficient way of turboing you car.

Therefore i am going to stick with hunting down a good Su carb, and stick with tradtion (very boring)

You'd also need to find a Turbo which is capable of handling fuel. Far better off going with the blowthrough imo.

Turbo Phil, that makes utter sense, why oh why did i not think of that lol
Cheers for showing me the light

Lee8v, I read a section in the book by david vizard (yes i can't get enough of this book) he talks about the seven enterpises kit (don't know if its around anymore), they used a log type manifold to cause as much turbulance as possible to ensure the fuel re mixed after passing though the turbo..... if you have the book i could give you the page number (yes i do love this book....)

Hmmmm freah thought, if i can't plumb an intercooler in, i may look at water/methanol injection :proud:

my suck through supercharger, simpler than a blow through.
Wouldn't think a suck through turbo would work to well because the fuel has to travel so far, espically with an intercooler

You CANNOT use an intercooler with a suckthrough system as the fuel would collect in the intercooler. Being unable to use an intercooler is limiting when big power outputs are sought, not to mention the other benfits it provides in terms of reliability.
Blow through for me every time.

That's not to say your supercharger doesn't look nice, and can certainly be made to work well. :w00t: There's just a bit more scope for power with a Turbo. Depends what your looking for i guess ..........
