Crankcase Breather Options?

Can I remove the canister from this and run it into an external oil catch tank? Or can I get rid of it entirely and add someone somewhere else?
Im fitting a blanking plate to the fuel pump, so I could possibly fit a vent onto this if that would work.

run the 1275 timing chain cover and transfer case (or drill out your current one which is more suitable). and yes you can run one out of the rocker cover.

maybe use a drop gear breather, and rocker cover.

With a supercharger you'll run an electric fuel pump too probably, the fuel pump hole is ideal to fit a breather.

I will be using an electric fuel pump yes, so that is an option.
The engines in the car, so Im guessing drilling the transfer case would be problematic.
Is it not possible to use the current location without the canister? Isnt it just there to catch the oil vapour?

I'd suggest only the one on the Transfer housing. Have a look at the later types as these sat lower and pointed forward so maybe useful here.
You can of course can and shut to any angle but if welding or brazing these remove the wire gauze from within first and I'd suggest having it acid dipped to get it really clean first. The wire gauze within is fairly important as that will help prevent neat Oil (when cornering) from being drawn up the breather.
You can of course make your own Oil Separator, just make the inlet about twice the diameter of the outlet.
I'd suggest fitting a sealed Rocker Cover and adding a Crankcase Air Inlet with a Non-return Valve, so the Air only goes in. This is important to stop the build up of sludge and vanish in the crankcase.
I would suggest a 'closed system' rather than a Catch Can, it will work better all round, smell less and be more MOT friendly (if a road car). What type of Carb are you fitting?

Theres no provison to run it back into the intake unfortunately.

You should be able to fit a PVC between the Carb and the Superchager.
I'm a little pained to say this, but I was only looking at them the other week for another fella. While for the most part, most of these kits are 'there' they seem to lack some refinement, this is just one of them.

The kit looks to be fantastic quality. Its just not as bolt on as Id expected.

I could tee it into the brake servo actually. But not sure coating the supercharger with oil vapour is a great idea.
Yes, why not, just insert an Inline PCV in there.
There really shouldn't be that much Oil at all, hardly any !!
If there is, then I think you've other worries ![]()
