steering rack gators

Split track rod ends from hubs via ball joint seperator or other similar tool. Ttake the track rod ends off, they screw onto the steering rack, good opportunity to replace them whilst you are at it. (make sure you note there positionsing other wise your toe in will be altered), undo clips (zip ties) holding the gators onto the rack and take old ones off. fitting new ones are a reverse of this process.

Easy stuff, an hour tops to do (provided your track rod ends come off easily).

Your right, its amazing the amount of jobs I do on a mini which ends up needing an angle grinder! :-

its easier if you loosen the nut before disconnecting the track rod end from the hub, gives you something to twist against.
Especially if you dont have to 3/4 spanners or the track rod ends are those cheap ones that dont have the little gaps for the spanner to hold it.

just a quick note for the aftermath!! if you're unsure weather the tracking is ok i tink a lot of garages do free tracking check!! tho if it is out it will cost you but then again it needed it!!
