I would appreciate some help in understanding what the boot latch (quarter turn arm) locks onto inside the mini boot. Is there a bracket just behind the seal flange? If so is this welded to the parcel shelf?

A picture inside a boot in this area would be really useful. I have tried looking online but can’t seem to find an image of inside a mini boot showing the boot side of the parcel shelf.

I have a Domino HT project and think I need to make a bracket for the boot lock as there is currently nothing there and the locking mechanism is using the back of the rubber seal which is pinching the seal.

There should be a metal plate which is spot welded at the top of the boot directly under the centre of the rear window the latch on the boot lock locates over this
If you look up where I have mentioned you should see it

I can see the bottom of it in the image you have linked. An image of the whole thing would be great.

As for my seeing one personally, the car I am working on is a Domino HT fibreglass kit car that doesn't have anything in place to accept the boot lock at the minute. I need to make something to suit. Also the square bar on the locking handle does protrude through the boot enough but that's another problem...

That would be great. I can have a better look at the weekend if I can get a picture before then.

If you have a look about half way down this page there is an image of the underside of the new parcel shelf Ben bought for his current restoration.

It shows clearly the catch that the boot lock engages into and how it is secured to the parcel shelf.
