I have a inertia type starter motor. Changing it last year at L2B because connect was glowing red. Been fine ever since. Then been work on her this week. Started a couple of times on the key then, kind of half turned over. Then nothing just the click of the solinode. Took starter motor off came to the conclusion that it was done, not turning when connect to battery directly either.
So new one came today, bolted on, connected up, turn the key, half turned then, click. Took it off and again wont turn when connect to battery.
Any help is welcome.

Sounds a bit like a flat battery, try connecting another vehicle in parallel or another good battery.
Also check conditions of cables, engine earth, connection points etc...

Turns out battery was flat. But was getting 12v across it with multimeter 🤪 also turns out didnt need a new starter motor in the first place, jump leads were screwed hah!

Glad you got this sorted, just for future reference, a charged battery at rest should read 12.6v, below 12.2v is around 50% charged and below 12v is classed as discharged.
