Yeah, but if you have to deal with school kids at your college when at 19/20 you get annoyed at wee ones trying to "go faster, bruv"

And yeah you can get 80/90 out of a 998, but you have to tune it a bit....not much........but a bit

Lol, I can get 80/90 out of my 998. Its really not that hard, admittedly with a Stage 1 kit, but you can still achieve it as standard. You just need to rev it a bit! :proud:

That would almost certainly cost more on insurance than a standard 1275cc engined car! Unfortunately insurers don't like modifications, even though mini drivers are so careful with their cars (often because they have spent so much time grafting on them)

Well some have....others get bodyshops/garages to do theirs and then pass it off as their own.

both my 998cc minis reach 90mph in standard tune.

Not that i legally condone that speed or travel at those speeds. I just know they can do it from the magical fairy who visited me while dreaming.

Seriously, I aint a speed freak and my 998cc mini is fast enough for me. Its a weekend car, i enjoy driving it rather then ploughing it into ditches and through hedges. You will love and respect the car and you wont worry about the engine. Good luck

with the city e

is it the who engine that makes it economical or is it just one part that i can replace with something from a normal 1000cc engine

That looks like nice.

the back windows have been tinted, this is uassly an indacation of a boy racer, so check the engine for knocking sounds, tyeres sholders (for hard cornering) and te suspenshion for damage.

but it looks really nice.

Just get a bloody car and worry about speed and power when you have some experience to deal with it.

The difference in speed between the City E and the City is about 1 second on the 0-60, big whoop.

Its the final drive in the gearbox that gives you the decreased acceleration but increased top speed. To change this you'll need to take the engine out, strip the gearbox, and put a different crown wheel and pinion in. If you get a garage to do this expect it to cost several hundred quid.

Stop thinking the City E will be slow. It won't. Mini's are very light anyway. The City E will be easily be able to keep up with any other 1litre car on the road!
