Hi All.
I'm getting to grips with planning a full rebuild and I want to tart up all of the suspension (subframes, radius arms, hubs etc etc) whilst I'm doing the body shell.
Using a front hub housing as an example....the question is this.....once I've media blasted all of the years of crud and corrosion away and we have a beautiful bare metal object, what is the best stuff to paint onto these to make them last? I've used Hammerite in the past and it has been OK, but I was wondering if there is something better? I don't want to powder coat because the car is a rally car so will need a refresh every now and then and I don't want the expense of recoating when I could give it a lick of paint for not a lot of money.
I was thinking a good epoxy primer first then a satin black top coat or something.
Any advice or experience?? Or shall I just stick with Hammerite and keep things simple.
