As the title suggests, I am having a hard time fitting the windshield rubber. It seems to be too big.. I have tried two alread but no luck, both have part number 021200S. As one can see from the attached pic, looks just too big. How can this be?? ?

yep they seem to be too big but they are the correct size. it just take time.

put it on the screen and then work it into the hole.

Have you had work done on scuttle ends? Maybe they weren’t put in the exact same place.
Are the rubbers going into the corners fully?

heat etc is not really needed. one thing to note the screen does not actually sit in the hole. it sits slightly proud which is why people seem to think they are too big.

this has to be one of the worst jobs ever, near impossible to work the windshield into the rubber... any advice?

I've always fitted the rubber to the body first and then fitted the screen into the rubber, lubing with a spray bottle of watered down car shampoo or washing up liquid and gently feeding the screen into the rubber using plastic trim tools.
It is a ball ache as the rubber tends to keep dropping down from the top of the appature and the heading has a tendency to to follow it.
Then you've got the joy of the filler strip to fit...

Car shampoo with a bit of water used liberally. I got mine installed in around 3 minutes using a bike tyre leaver.

I'm not sure if it's even possible to fit the rubber to the car with glass already in it.
Fit the rubber to the body first. You may find it keeps falling off, but persevere. Make sure the headlining is correctly tucked under.
Grab the screen and position it into the seal running along the bottom. Work around the rubber with a blunt object, teasing the lip over the glass. You'll need a lube- I use a spray bottle of weak car shampoo diluted with water (cheap, no salt and you can use as much as you want).
The screen will pop into the seal quickly this way; I can do them in a few minutes. The hard part (imo) is fitting the chrome locking strip. Even with the right tool, I find that process the most fiddly and time consuming.

Like most things in life, it's all about technique! Once you've done a few, they're easy. Just be careful not to nic the rubber or scratch the paint.

I have always done it with the rubber on the screen.

Don't forget there are two types of windscreen rubbers ,the earlier and later models are different. The later one I have always fitted it to the body once worked out which way it fits
