Hi all Just been introduced to this site and looks like a good frendly place to meet new fanatics like myself.
I aquired the car off my sister 3 years ago and spent since then rebuilding and adapting it as it was, to say the least it bad condition. Its been on the road now for a year and been to most of the local shows (with to my suprise some reasonable results) It was never intended for winning shows just for keeping me out of the house for a few evenings whilst building (should have taken me time though). There were 3 of us in total building minis one convertable one pickup and my roadster. Everything was done by ourselves even the painting but did have help on the upholstery by the same friend who introduced me (liljack).
If I can help out with anything just ask I'm no expert but I'll try. :w00t:

Welcome to TMf! Nice car!

Do you have to add any structural strengthening by law (MOT) to allow you to have no roll bar?

Hi there and thanks
As for the strengthening it has got reinforcing inside the sills, bars from front inside arches to rear arches (as doors open needed this to stop gap closing up) and supports across the width inside dome part. As for protecting the driver/passenger as in roll bar, it has never been brought up during an MOT so presume its not required.
