Hi newbie here


i drive a 1991 mini city e known as dorris (the old tart) with quite a bit of a spec list i'll post that up esle where B)

heres the specs

dorris's spec
started life as a mini city e bless her cotton socks but has had seroius mods since

*engine mods
1293cc morspeed short block
mg metro gearbox
286 kent rally cam
lightened and balanced flywheel/crank
vandervell bearings
mg metro turbo clutch
omega pistons
stage 4 skimed cylinder head
copper head gasket
1:3 ratio rolling tip rockers
stage 2 lcb maniflow exhuast manifold
2 inch link pipe with cherry bomb silencer
loud as hell boxster back box
polished maniflow inlet manifold
hif 44 carb with modded needle
k&n air filter
aldon electronic dissy matched to engine spec
aldon flamethrower coil
spitfire plugs and leads
special 2 core rad
6 blade metal fan (better than the C**p plastic ones)
silicone hoses
75 amp alternater (45 amp is standard)

*suspension and wheel mods
race coil spring conversion (instead of silly rubber cones)
hilos (so i could lower it the 3 inches i have)

cheers for the warm welcome guys

yeah i have changed the old tart over the years but i was planning on leaving her standard oops
basicaly anything that went wrong i replaced with something better and shes ended up like that :-

That's the best way to do it, makes it somewhat easier to justify!!

Well I cant see anything wrong with it! Lovely Mini. Just cant have been cheap but since when has doing up a car been cheap?

next mod i think might be a bit more contarversal i'm after a non a series engine but its the next logicical step for me seing my gearbox has seen better days and i really miss not having 5th gear drive to and from work (60 miles) plus the extra power would be nice :-

might not be every bodys cup of tea but i also have a ford escort :w00t: but i try to only drive that when its wet :D

Get a Jack Knight gearbox! Its a 5 speed and then you wouldnt have to be contravesial unless you want lots more power. :D

but the cost of that i can have a 130bhp engine that does more miles to the gallon than i do at the moment
and have a gearbox that i won't care if i break the thing i can pick up the car engine and box for about £130
sell the car and engine with a broken box sorted for £70 lol

the only thing is it won't have the amasing a series gearbox whine that i have become so found of over the years
