Hey all

Going to be installing some cooper S 7.5" discs soon, and was wondering what else one should do whilst in there with everything apart?
I got the basic 12 to 10 inch wheel conversion kit sold on Minisport - huddersfield and minispares sell the same for 200 +-.

Im guessing most goes as per usual, if its broke, swap/fix it. Just would like a heads up as it takes time to get parts here and dont want to end up sitting on the job for 2 weeks because of one small thing.

Thanks

you may well find that you need to replace your brake pipes as the flex needs to be free to move on the subframe to fit the calipers correctly. and most of the time the brake pipes will not undo on the rad side.. and on the other side if you just have the banjo bolt so it is easier to undo. if you have the brake pressure switch then that can be in the way and need removing. they have been known to be sized and snap. that can be an issue.

Would be a good time to check the top and bottom ball joints, TRE, suspension rubbers and bearing. Also the nose of the CV where the split washer sits along with the washer itself. Both will wear if the bearing was loose and if left could wear your new drive flange. And change the brake fluid unless it's been done very recently.

I payed 137+tax on minisport. was on sale with -20%...but as minisport does, they say "Hurry last few in stock", then I buy it, and I got an email saying 10-14 days until they have them again -.-

They are well known for advertising stuff they don't have.

Personally I cut out the 'BS' and deal with Mini Spares.

Is the AP calliper version worth it over the Minispares own kit?

Notice the Minisport kit uses OEM caliper part numbers but they are non genuine calipers in the kit...

Just so I understand you post, dont all sellers sell non genuine calipers with their 200ish pound kits? Or do you mean theyre just faking it (minisport alone)

You can pay more for the kit from Minispares with AP calipers, rather than their own calipers.

Whats the difference between the two? Quality, life span etc?

One is made by AP, the other is made by Minispares (or their supplier). I have the latter and they work well, but then they only did a few miles before the car was stripped for refurb.
