8.4" alloy calipers would be an option but they all seem to cost at least as much as the whole 7.9" kit.

Adding some discs, pads, metro drive flanges etc would make that a lot more expensive than using standard metro 4 pots or the 7.9" kit.


no. Buy a pair of £100 metro hubs. use the flange and if possible the discs, then buy minisport calipers (£150?) = £250ish possibly £300 if you buy new grooved discs.

compared to £600 for a 7.9 kit?

I'm not good at maths but...

The calipers (they don't say if they are for 8.4 or 7.9 set ups) are nearly as much as the whole 7.9 setup including caliper, pads, discs and fitting kit

Metro vented 4 pots with good discs and pads at the front and superfin drums with good shoes at the rear should be good enough for what I need at the moment.

Turbo engine not going in till at least next year so plenty of time to upgrade stuff
