Looks like a time vs money choice then!
1. buy the tool above (and maybe sell back on ebay once finished
2. buy an adjustable reamer and get a pilot fitting made
3. buy an adjustable reamer do the rough cut with a home made rough cutter
4. £99 exchange reconditioned pair
Thanks - I didn’t realise these were still available.

,,,,,,,,,,,, the adjustable ones are a no go.
Why do you say the Adjustable Reamers are a 'no go' ?

I hope not. I’ve just acquired an adjustable reamer with a decent length pilot from eBay.

i have tried the adjustable reamers and just trashed the bearing, i found them imposable to use by hand.
i found it difficult to set up, hard to get started just like a machine reamer and the finish was dreadful.
i personally would pay the extra for a hand reamer, it just makes the job easer.

Sorry to read of your bad experience here.
I've a set of adjustable and a few others outside of that set and wouldn't be without them, but these are Hand Reamers, in a Sutton's brand.
I'm just wondering if perhaps what you tried was a Machine Reamer? You would struggle big time to get any result from one of these when trying to use them by hand.
With Hand Reamers, the Leading (typically) 1/3rd the length of the Blade is Tapered so you can get a start. This isn't limited to Adjustable but also fixed size Hand Reamers. Something to keep in mind when using them (or indeed setting Adjustable) that you need to go past that leading end to get to the Parallel part of the Reamer and get the result that you are seeking.
Machine Reamers are Parallel all the way and so most of the cutting with these, is done on the nose. Fine with Power Drive gear when everything can be clamped down and the Reamer fed in, but even in say a hand held drill, these would make a mess. For what it's worth, I do regularly use Hand Reamers in Power Applications, but just go easy and slow.
