Thank you for the compliments! I have some cosmic arches I'm going to offer up and tape on, then take pics but i think i will remain archless as it will pain me to drill the 1977 shell!

I think ill end up going Minilite / GBs with no arches as a happy half-way!

@Bike1769 - The reverse's are 4.5 with 165 tyres for a bit of bulge - and yes spaced out for the poke. They sit basically flush on normal, no spacers drums all round.

The wheels I use on my 'S' are the 4.5" x 10" original ST type as sold by Mini Spares. No arch extensions are needed and they not only look good but take the 165/70 x 10 tyres effectively.

They do look good but watch out for rubbing on the arches when cornering hard.

I love GBs. I like them much better than Mini/Super/Ultra Lites.

I agree the reverse rims are what I had back in the day. Why 6s? Does it make the steering feel heavy at all? I am deliberating over 5 or 6 inch Revolutions when I get to that stage in my rebuild.

Your Mini looks just as superb on those new wheels!

Cheers, Steve.

thanks guys!

@sc-em - i dont notice between the 4.5" and 6" to be fair - take the same tyre after all.

If you can get away with the slimmer option then go for it as better for the car but 6 looks better imo. depends on your prefs.

Bare in mind that mine has been fully set up by Slarks after putting full adjustable geometry set on so if you just wack 6" wheels on it may not be as good!

Good point. However, when I reassemble my front and rear subframes, they too will be fully adjustable. I guess I just need to see some examples, so it looks like a trip to Himley may be in order.

The GBs are pretty much the narrowest offset you can buy on a 6" wheel and mine are normal drums - so thats the narrowest they'l sit on a mini basically.

If you want narrower then go 4.5 or 5... a bit of time with a tape measure and looking at options (offset wise) and you can make a very good judgement on where each setup will sit width wise.
