I had one that took me a while to track down.

Turned out the 4 bolts holding the disc to the drive flange had come loose (or I didn't tighten them!).

Something I've not checked, will take a look tonight!

Have you checked the tie bar to lower arm bolts are tight?
Brake pads rattling in calipers? Jack the car up and thump the tyres, usually makes the pads rattle if this is the case.

Tie bar bolt as per original post.
pads are good, this sound is felt through the front of the car, so heavily doubt its pads as it is also there during braking.

Didn't see the bit on tie bar nuts/bolts.
Have you tried it without dampers yet?

have to follow this thread as I have the same type of thumping sound on my left side (also a LHD car). Need to go through all the above and hope the OP finds his issue

It sounds similar to when my Evo had a top mount bearing go. I'm sure it's damper related, so when I have time, I will drive the car without dampers.

I hear the sound more when im accelerating from really low down, say 1500rpm in fourth gear? I also hear it whilst slowing down and on bumps an rough roads. At first I was tihknig bearings, but yea, not sure yet...

EDIT: check your engine steadys. might be a reason for knocking

As per original post. Already done. This is definitely suspension related.

Nick - 100% to do with the damper set up. Removed shocks and took her down the road (is it wrong I think the ride is smoother without the dampers on?) and there is no knocking. Now to see if it was the lower bolts not being full done up, or the shocks themselves!

now re fit one and test. if no change switch it to the other side then you know if it is linkage or shock. then refit other to check shock.
