Hi all.

As above. I'm getting fed up with Flux, they try to stiff me every year.

I had several cars with them including 2 minis, but i have gradually taken the other cars away from them as i managed to get them insured elsewhere a fair bit cheaper.

But with the minis i have left them with Flux.

Every year though, they try it on, and i have to search around for quotes and then ring them to try and get the price back down.

I realise most insurance companies do this but i was wondering if any of you have left Flux or had a better deal and service elsewhere, including insurers who may not be thought of as classic car insurers.

I may also try footman james and carole nash later today, what are your thoughts and experiences on them?

I'm not a youngster any more,55 and dont have any points etc, so it's not as if i'm a big risk.

Thanks in advance guys.

Almost identical to mine, also with Lancaster. £102 with zero no-claims (second car). Recovery included, which as we know can be a bit pricey for older cars.

I switched to Footman James from Flux. Flux used to be really good, always managed to speak to someone that knew what I was talking about, but that seemed to stop. They started to appear on comparison sites as fluxdirect and seemed to do more mainstream car insurance, that seemed to be the trigger for the specialist section service deterioration. Footman James offer British Mini Club discount too.

I have used flux a lot and have never had an issue.

My Mini is agreed value insured for £98 for the year!

Flux are terrible if you claim. They will fight to not pay out. I won't go into my issue with them, but they still owe me money!
I'm with Lancaster and pay around £200 for my highly modded Cooper.

My claim with AF a few years ago was painless and smooth, but that’s my own personal experience with them.

Footman James for me over the last few years - multi car policy. Not necessarily the cheapest but seem to be open to listening to customer's particular needs.

Always used Lancaster. Every year the premium goes up from about £90 to £130.... every year I call and they put it back to about £90. I think it’s so they can try to sell the extras like breakdown, legal etc. This year they tried to sell me laptop/ipad insurance etc etc. I just rattle through saying no and it’s done for another year.

They also promise to beat your renewal on your daily drive. Not tried this yet.

Another good thing is my classic policies are attracting no claims discount years. I think most classic policies don’t?

Never claimed, so cant comment on that experience.

I received my renewal with Adrian Flux (Trinity Lane Insurance) yesterday and the cost was £167 the same as last year, I tried Footman James who came in at £228 so tried Go Compare, Performance direct came in at £88 including agreed value, the next best quote was Flux direct at £105. After contacting Adrian Flux they have matched Performance Direct.

I have been with Flux for 3 years and have had one £3,000 insurance claim with them and have always found them OK.

I moved my 1964 Cooper S to Hagerty last year. They are first class. They suggested my insured value was too low and upped it to a very good figure and still they were cheaper than Flux.
