I struggled for about 2 years without one and had two stands now for the past 35 years. I'd never go back to the bench.

The shear number of times the block needs to be turned over during a build, well,,,, I'm replacing the spindles roughly every 2 - 3 years from them being worn out !

Have you thought of lubricating the spindles ?................I bet they'd last a lifetime, if you used Castrol R.

Happy New Year.

Hi I want to buy one.
Where does it actually bolt on to ?

Mine has some swiveling arms that mount on the plate that I have mounted on the plate on the stand, and bolted to the Alternator bracket and Oil Filter mount. I put some small bits of square section to make up the spacing. I made sure the bolts I used were adequately strong as they are holding the whole engine to the stand.

I used one with the Mini adaptor arm which bolts to the oil filter housing and alternator mounting points. The only issue I found was the strength of the bolts I used. Normal bolts are fine with just the block and head, but once you've started adding the gearbox, transfer housing and clutch assembly, you may find that the fully assembled lump is more than the bolts can handle. 2 of mine had bends in them when I removed them.

That aside, it was an awesome bit of kit that I was very pleased to have.

Oddly I've found it for sale again whilst not looking for it!

Might be worth a punt, although with the body to do first I may not need it for a while. The V8 looked better, though.
