Ahh Good old DHL .... Drop it ... Hide it ... Lose it...

I worked for DHL in their southampton depot as a young lad 14years or so back. The stories i could tell you! I doubt its changed much. I had a full exhaust shipped from japan to my house aprox 3m long by dhl, i was middle man and sending it to a chap in Scotland drove it to the local depot and they said i couldn't send it as it was “too big for their vans” ? it had just been delivered in their van and still had their airway bill on fo god sake lol. Dpd are a far better courier! Minispares should change account.

DHL may be bad, but don't let that cover for Minispares current issues. Minispares are a valued supplier and need to get it right but my recent experiences suggest they have issues to fix.

As said Minispares have major IT problems at present and have spent many hours so far trying to sort out the issues.

A comment from Minispares employee on the Mk 1 Forum is that ‘it’s hell on earth’.

Hopefully it is getting there, they are working as hard as possible to resolve the problems but frustrating for all....both employees and customers.

Dpd are a far better courier!

Indeed, I have never had an issue with DPD.

although DHL are good at bombarding you with text and emails in the build up to your delivery, in the end it comes down to 'by end of day tomorrow'

DPD and most of the others give you a time slot to within an hour. This alone should knock DHL out of court .. they need to catch up. Just one accurate texts instead of 10 vague ones would be a start

Agreed although I did get a DHL delivery recently with a time slot which was far better than "by end of day".  At least you can get on with your life then.

I finally got an email today that it was ready to ship and my card had been charged......but nothing from DHL. Used to be I'd get the "ready to ship" email and the "we've picked it up" email from DHL only minutes apart. 1 day shy of a week at this point.....

I find Minispares great. But I do think they are on the expensive side when it comes to postage. Especially if you need one or a two small items.

But I guess that's not down to them?

Just had a prompt delivery from them (time as they stated) .. it was just nuts/bolts so came by post.
But agree not the cheapest P&P ..

For anyone who doesn’t want to pay postage and needs a quick, friendly and excellent service

https://www.richmond...carparts.co.uk/

I’ve done 2 orders from them and both arrived quickly and free postage
Have emailed Neil there a couple of times and had an instant and helpful response. They don’t have everything like minispares but I’ll definitely be checking their site before minispares from now on

I needed some bits so thought I'd ring.  Chap I spoke to said I.T. problems are sorted out but there is a back log at Potters Bar.  I want them by a certain day so I'll go and collect rather than chancing standard delivery or paying for express.
