Make a custom phone holder.
My idea would be some sort of rubbery material to hold your phone and stop it sliding all over. Wire a ciggy lighter in behind the dash, plug in a charger, poke a hole in the material and pass the plug end through.
Jump in the car, stick ya phone on the plug and leave it be. Easy to reach, obvious place so u wont forget it.
passenger side.
Have a long flexible map reading light. Mount it behind the dash, but so it can be pulled out and used and pushed back away. A gear gaitor type idea will hide the hole nice when its pushed away.

like the phone holder.. could even get some way of an incar charger wired up aswell..
