That sounds a bit dodgy I know but bear with me.
the wiring at the front of my engine bay is filthy - covered in oil and all sorts. How do I clean this witout damaging the wires?

try a rag soaked in wd40

yup, one of the only things WD is good for lol.
I use white spirit, cuts thorugh more but doesn't smell as nice though!
