Does anyone have experience with the John Speed supercharger kit? It’s less than half the cost of a vmax kit so it appears pretty attractive.

I don't have any experience of it, but it's nowhere near half the price?

That's a very confusing website.
Are you in UK/EU? If so you can't get it at the price in your link. With the VAT it's £1260.
£1510 if you get the carb from them aswell.

VMAX is around £1750 iirc?

I’m in the USA so I’m seeing £875 vs £1750. That’s actually right at half.

25KG shipped to US + insurance is gonna be pretty substancial how both are gonna incure the cost.....

As far as I can work out it's £1060, not £875.
I think the £1060 is already without VAT, but they've had to list it separately due to the way their system works.
Still quite a difference, but it may also be worth asking VMAX if they're VAT registered and therefore able to offer the same discount.

Have you considered a small procharger, surely a cheaper local option. If you have any issues with the kit from the UK, it may give you headaches to get resolution. Probably cheaper to source local parts and know how.

Agree with Joe. Stuart at Vmax has a huge amount of experience, I’d go with him. It’s worth paying the extra for the technical support alone.

In my experience with Stuart his after sales service is shocking. Takes your money as fast as you can say boo, takes 12, not 2 weeks to send out the kit. Bits missing, says he’ll send them but never does. Same thing happened to a friend who purchased one after me......almost carbon copy of how I was treated. The carb is a cheap Chinese copy of a Weber, leaks and the jets are poor quality. The inside of the charger has been smoothed out with RTV sealant! Not what you would expect for the money involved. My friends manifold was full of pin holes from bad welds and the flange face was twisted and didn’t seal to the head....... but hey, only my opinion.
I would have complained if only I could get hold of him.
By the time I’d fixed it to a point it would work I was over it and moved it on.
