I've been routing through a box of Mini parts and came across these

My thoughts are that they are 1275gt / Mini Special / 25 dials but without the rev counter

Is that plausible? Can the rev counter detach itself like this?

They look like the ones from my 93 sprite which has no rev counter from the factory.

0786 label could be week and month of manufacture perhaps?

The standard Mini Clubman and Clubman Estate had the 2 dial dash without a rev counter from 1969. Only the 1275GT originally had the 3 dials, later 1980/90's Minis such as City, Sprite, Mayfair and Cooper had 2 or 3 dial 'Clubman' dash depending on their level of spec. when the centre speedo dash was finally discontinued.

The bottom of a lake going on >_< appearance

The 1275 rev counters were in separate housings that added on. I think they had a single printed circuit for all three though.

Maybe someone fitted a 1275 speedo to a later car or fixed a 1275 with a 2 dial printed circuit?

Yes it's whether the rev counter could be detached from the 1275 type gauges

Yes, it's the same part housing the speedo, fuel and temp gauges whether there are 2 or 3 dials. Like I said though if there were 3 dials there'd have been a printed circuit for all three so that's not factory original.

Looks bog standard 2 dial late smiths guages with the fantasy 120mph speedo originally from the clubman but put in the 80s minis when they stopped using the centre dials. You could always add the tach onto it with a 3dial circuit board and 3hole binnacle and frame

No, the two dials didn't go to 120. Or did they?

My sisters 1985 mini Mayfair (12" wheels and clubman type dash) had 120 mph speedo and had orange needles. Think all the clubman / GT instruments had white needles.

Ah that's interesting. Being a Mayfair did it have a rev counter?
