I went out about an hour ago, and some one flashed me down and told me my break lights were light up but didnt get brighter when i breaked.

So i thanked the guy and had further inspection, so they light u with the lights on buy when i pressed the break the bulbs didnt get any brighter. I then turned the main lights off and pressed the breaks and found that the drivers side break light didnt light up but the passanger light lit up.

so when i got home i tested the bulb and it was all fine.

So my question is does anyone know what could be my probles, i cant understand what is wrong as when the main lights are on the bulb lights up but then when i press the break nothing. anyone got any ideas.

Any help would be great?

Sounds like an earthing problem...

where would i find the earth problem and if it was an earth problem why would the other break light still be working

i second the earthing problem,

earthing can caus all sorts of weird behavior,

on the back of the lamp in the boot there is a spade onto the case of the lamp wiggle this or clean it up and check it fits well.

Anyone know what it could be

dissconnect ur battery and have a good clean of al lthe connectors on the back of both clusters, then clean up the earths for them, there are 2 placese i can think they may be earthed, 1 is in the boot connected to the bottom of the passenger side cluster! and the other will be under ur brake servo bolted to the bulkhead...... if they dont work the only other thing is iffy bulb.

1 bulb mite be earthing thru the other if u get what i mean thats why you would only get 1 lighting up!! i think theres a little headlight earth wire on the n/s/r cluster but its a bugger to get to as the tank is in the way!!

Thanks ill probs end up taking the tank out trying to find where its one wrong lol, im sur eit wont be to big a problem but its a bit annoying that it has happened.

Ok i have been out trying to fix the light this morning and, i have managed to get the drivers side one working properly.

However now when the main lights are on the break lights are lit up but the passanger side one is brighter than the driver side bulb, then when i press the break the drivers side one gets brighter and no change to the passanger side one.

But when i tune the main lights on and perss ther break the bulb on the passanger side is weaker.

Any ides what the problem could be??

Fixed it now the bulb was in the wrong way round and that caused it to stop working properly lol.
