bit more today I was planning to remove the rest of the bits from the bulkhead to start on my rollover jig but rusty bolts stopped play
got there in the end next was to remove the clutch master cylinder then I came across which looked like rivets holding on the pedal box frame with what looks like chewing gum in the gap and a random bit of yellow metal. do these need to be drilled out or cut off can anyone please tell me..
so I thought I would try the Clarke 135 out first time I have welded.. watched a few YouTube videos this is what I got.
not to bad I thought for a first admittedly its thick plate but all I have at the moment.
hopefully more next week keen to get it on the jig..

The steering column/ pedal box is meant to be secured like that. The 'Chewing Gum is the same stuff they use on the window regulators (Butyl??? maybe somebody can tell us.)
Unfortunately your shear bolts have been sheared off as they were intended, sometimes if your lucky there not like this
http://www.minispare...ck to catalogue
The best way to get them off is either to cut a slot in the sheared head and try to move them with a screw driver or weld a nut on and turn them with a ratchet.
Good luck with it.

the homebrew rollover jig is nearly finished have some steel disks coming to make a better locking device but overall im pleased with it seems to work well
have a big pile of bits to sort for storage more for the loft

made some steel discs to act as a stop in various positions for my rollover jig seems to work well.
next plan is to remove the rear valance then order some panels I think I will replace the boot floor both arches and the rear end boot area and probably both rear quarters as I suspect they will have to be removed judging by other build threads which have been really helpful in guiding me along to the next stage and the order to do it.

bit more today not as far as I wanted to get but its all progress..
removed the rear valance just cut it off as its going found some newspaper and some filler
the removed some of the boot floor started in the rear seat area I found it easier to cut into sections spot weld drills worked a treat
hopefully back to it during the week and next weekend theres some brackets right near the rear bulkhead in the boot which look tricky to drill out the spot welds might be a Dremel job.

finally got the boot floor out a new one Is on the way aswell as a new rear end panel. was keen to keep as many of the bracket etc as I could so once removed and cleaned up I spend some time repairing and holes that were to close to the edge and tore the holes.
as panels not arrived yet and with some time on my hands I set about cleaning up some bits and used the bilt amber gel to make sure I removed as must rust as possible and zinc priming them up as it all helps towards the end goal, some black epoxy paint has been ordered aswell
thanks for looking hope you are all keeping safe .

however the boot floor with the battery box was out of stock, now I know you can buy this separate but I thought I would have a go at making one as I need to get used to working with sheet metal.
so I picked this up 0.9 mm sheet
started to gradually get it into shape I was keen to keep the factory look I managed to create the flute in the bottom with a former I made from a large piece of softwood.
made the same holes not perfect but as my first at anything like this I was happy
bit of zinc primer
ready for some plug welds next which I have been practicing just need a longer c clamp to clamp as I go.
thanks for looking
